Lilac

I have an old lilac and it has growth all around the base coming up through the soil, some are quite large with nice leaves can you take cuttings, or dig them out, are they thrown up by the roots???

 

Sue, that's how my lilac originated from a growth out from the bottom of my neighbours tree. So have a go as long as you can get it out with some root on should do ok.
