Two,maybe three years ago G-World demonstrated how to remove the scales from a lily bulb and raise them.
I dug these up and did just that..

Because my borders have been washed bare by the flood there is not the usual green cover for slugs and snails to lurk under and devour seedlings, and these have appeared now.
Are they the lily plants I had given up on?

You can see for yourselves how washed the ground is!

[IMG] Hi Pal, yes they look like lillies to me.. Were they Madonna Lilies as they look like my Madonnas or are they Orientals or Crown Imperials can you remember...? All of mine are just starting to wake up now as well. Try & give them some protection from slugs & snails if they start to show up, then we might find out which kind they were.... ;) :D

[IMG] OK, I have some orientals coming along, they haven't flowered yet, but they are coming through allot bigger this year, just keep an eye on them & keeps the slugs & snails away & also keep an eye out for the horrid red lily beetle.. I usually spray mine for that with a systemic later on.. Look forward to seeing some pics later on Pal..
