Most of my Stargazers have already bloomed and droped off, this was my first year of growing them and would like to grow them on for future years.

Does anyone have advice reguarding aftercare, e.g how much do I cut them back, and can they be moved from the large pot to the garden for next year.

Any advice would be very welcome.

I don't cut them back, I let the stems die back and then remove them in winter to prevent rot. Mine are kept in their pots all year round as I have a problem with sqiurrels who love lily bulbs, but many people do plant them in the ground. You can do it in autumn when they become dormant.

When they have finished flowering in the pots I remove the seed heads and give my plants a good feed to encourage the bulb rather than the plant itself. Like Liz I let them die down and remove the stems then. I always leave them in the pots. The trouble with putting them in the ground is that they are so fragile when they come through they are easily broken off and then they come to nothing Had this happen many times so always now grow them in pots - besides I can move them around the garden as and when I fancy a change.
