While dead heading today i spotted a lily beetle on my Dahlia. I duely squashed it and while checking for more my neighbour next door but one "the expert" arrived home.
He enquired what i was doing and i answered about "lily beetle" he said no they are ladybirds, He has loads on his lilies. :dh:

Every day without fail i am still picking lily beetles off, I am sure all my lilies are ruined,
I am sure my neighbour didn`t bother spraying his lilies as i told him to, if i had offered him some of my Provado he would have used the bottle full :(

Those Lily Beetles are a pain elsewhere. I have squashed whole legions and still they keep turning up.

:lollol: :lollol: about your neighbour, it would be funny if they didn't come over to your garden for a visit and munch.

Peri, just hope you never get to see one in real, at least, not in your garden.

Always dig the soil over to give the robins a chaance at getting at the little b*******rs. In fact dig over several times during the winter.

If in pots take out, give them a good wash and store until the spring. Throw old compost away.

If in garden, dig out and store. Dig over soil.

    Provado is very good

Just be careful. This is a Red Cardinal beetle not a Lily beetle and a friend.
