    Picture first.

I really don't know what kind it is...are there dwarf lilies with big heads like this one?

This was in a pot last year with two others and grew about 20" high. We planted them here and forgot about about them. So was quite surprized when it appeared (the other two didn't)....funny thing is though. Although the flowers are the same size as last year about 3 to 4 inches across...the plant is not much higher than 6 to 8".

Is it a throwback or what? We are completely mystified. Since this photo, the other two flowers have emerged.

    Thanks in advance.:thumb:

I have no idea what kind of lily it is, but the very same thing happened to me with a potful of orange lilies (very similar to yours). They were 40 cm tall in the pot, or even more, once in the ground they became dwarfs (but still had large flowers). May be the heavy clay where they were planted was not up to their expectations? Don't know. I suspect it is a matter of soil and light, but have absolutely no proof.

Interesting though yea. This ground is clay and stone (as you can see), but with quite a lot of multi-purpose compost dug in.

Thinks (now what is 40 cm...erm 15.7"..got it)

Lol, I am sorry, I manage to reason in foot and feet (if it is only a few) but inches are too complicated. ;)
