My suspicious mind is working over time again.

I've never been head hunted on LinkedIn, nor has anyone I know. That is until today, when both I and a colleague almost simultaneously got head hunting messages on LinkedIn, both tuned to match our skills profile, both from companies that appeared to be staffed mainly by fun loving young women, and both contacted by well endowed ladies.

It could be genuine, but I think not. Does anyone else here use LinkedIn, and if so, have you been head hunted out of the blue recently?

Clueless, my other half uses LinkedIn and he says he's never been headed hunted. He says if you want him to have a look at it Pm me with your details, or you can link up on LinkedIn with him and I'll give you his details. :)

I'm on there and am suspicious of contacts out of the blue, it's usually recruitment agents gathering CVs. If they are genuine you should be able to check their website first and see if they have any advertised jobs, if not then don't respond. LinkedIn is useful for keeping in touch with ex-colleagues and a couple of times in the past I've been contacted about genuine jobs that otherwise I would have missed.

I've had many 'invites' over the years from people I know and don't know but have no interest in it.

Never being head hunted from the site
Though it gives me great pleasure to see that three of my ex bosses from hell are still unemployed over the past six years Oh how sweet :dancy:

The CV's are a bit tongue in cheek
Manager of a dynamic business for six years :-) try three months, and previous to that company VAN DRIVER for twelve years until lost licence drink driving, Not sacked but given a job in the workshop, when the manager died and there was no direct replacement, so he was upgraded :-) as the only one who had the keys

I bailed out, the company closed down and the dynamic manager is on linkden with his credentials ho ho ho (well it is Christmas after all)

The other two are more correct in their CV but still seeking work
Mercedes to bike ho ho ho I love linkden

Nup, never. I have had quite a few great invitations however and built some decent business relationships. Unfortunately I believe the efficacy of the service has had its day and is trying to compete with facebook which is utterly the wrong approach for those people wanting to build business, not be upwardly socially appealing!

That said, would be great to work with some fun loving ladies...

I probably wont reply to my well endowed lady head hunter. However as for my colleague who was also contacted about an hour before by a different well endowed lady, I've urged him to reply just to see what happens.

My colleague is much younger than me, still living at home with his parents. He was reluctant when I suggested he sees what happens, so I told him, "listen man, in years to come you'll have a wife and kids and a mortgage and you'll be in no position to be adventurous, and you'll look back on your youth and think, I wished I'd seen what that fit blonde lady wanted". Unlucky for him he is at that age where he thinks he knows best. So I guess I'll never find out what would have happened next:loll:

I've been head hunted on there for an interim role which I did when I got made redundant earlier in the year. I also got contacted by a few agencies on there, which I didn't mind because I was looking for a job at the time and it's always useful to have them as contacts for future reference :)

Agencies on linkedin are one of the reasons I don;t use it as much - they always want to get on your contact list so they can get direct access to people in your network. Highly unprofessional behaviour and I don't want them pestering my client base
