Just been reading about "Silent Roar" fertilizer with essence of Lion Poo (NICE!!). Supposed to be the best thing for keeping cats off your garden, has anyone tried it and does it work?

Hi Kasabian, I've heard about lion poo loads but never tried it, so I'm interested to see what people say too. In my opinion the only thing to keep cats off gardens is a world with no cats! I bought some elephant poo from a zoo visit once.

Tried lion poo - it did nothing to deter either the spraying or the depositing. Sorry!

Poo Poo JarBax, thats not what I wanted to hear. The top end of my garden stinks and it is due to our feline friends, all in the area where the little uns swing is. I dont want to harm them obviously, but have tried scarers, "get off" stuff, onion peelings and I'm getting a bit sick. One cat in particular arrives on our extension roof most nights at about 1030 (you can set your clock by it),the cheeky little blighter, its black and white as well which makes it even worse (what with me being a Sunderland supporter and all). Sorry to all you cat lovers but I dont want them spraying my babies toys a papping where I'm trying to work. What about that plant Coleus Canina does that work??? I heard it looks quite nice anyhow, so I might try and get some anyway as it is coming into the garden centre this week apparently. Maybe a combination of them all (and a shot gun....only joking)

I must admit I find that birds seem to make more of a mess than cats in my garden. They are alweays scratting up the soil and disturbing my seedlings! [IMG]

I tried it and it didn't work. I've also tried the lemon and the garlic scented ones and pepper spray. My lawn is currently netted over while new seed grows, including some clover which is supposed to resist being weed on, and my bed is covered in cocktail sticks which has helped a bit.
Would something like this help you? They're about £40 on eBay. I can't use it, 'cos they're my own cats and they wouldn't be able to leave the house with that on in the garden!
