I am collecting fresh horse manure daily along a local path. I plan to store it for 2 years before spreading it on the garden. If I make a liquid manure with it, what strength should I dilute it to, and should I use it as a general garden feed?

    Thanks

    Andrew

Cor, it's a very inexact science, but if you dilute it to look like weak tea it should do.

You don't have to store it unless you want to. You can put it straight on the beds as a mulch (don't use it to plant with or get it too close to the stems of plants). Rain and worms will do the rest. The main reason I think people tend to store horse manure is because you have to wait for the bedding (straw/shaving etc) to break down but presume you won't have any of that. Been putting "neat" droppings on my beds for many years as have the "machines" which make it! Can't help with making liquid manure as never done it but found very few plants which don't benefit from getting a dose laid round them.

As Silu said but: If you want to "compost" it then 6 months will be enough.
