I bought this pot of flowers yesterday as they are so striking. Their scientific name is Eustoma grandiflorum an common names include the Texas Bluebell and Tulip Gentian. Is anyone else familiar with them?

I've now been trawling the net on them and they are fascinating ... wedding thingys in US, Australia and NZ. They are really beauts and apparently seed quickly. If and when they do, I'll let you know if anybody wants to try them! [IMG]

I have three in a pot at the moment. They were pink, but have now stopped flowering, I bought them from the florist. anyway was considering just chucking them, but I would love to try seeds or keep them going some how.

I think they are also known as chinese roses?

I grew some a few years back, germinated easily but didn't get any flowers, I can't remember why, never tried again. Chiltern seeds sell them.

I suspect they may need a lot of heat - even florist said they did not last long.
