Now isn't reallty too late, I sowed a couple in late August a few years ago picked up in Florida.
The tree got to 8/9 ft in a glasshouse but was too big to keep and never had any sign of buds coming on it.

    Honey locust or black locust?
    Gleditsia or Robinia?

Gleditsia Triacanthos I have grown from seed.
I found it best to chip the seed coat and soak for a few hours first, before sowing.
