I have divided the strip of the garden I am using for veg in two with concrete blocks to make a path. It has really helped make the beds accessible. My query is this. I would like to sub divide the plot where my beans and onions are, as I need to plant some spring onions and some nasturtiums. Can I use sink logs into the soil for this - a sort of minor foot-way. Will it have any effect on the soil?

 I think they would be incredibly slippery in the wet Victoria, which is an extra danger all gardeners can do with out. Paths should be safe in my books Victoria..

Hi Victoria i agree with Marley Farley you will be adding a safety hazard to yourself and others.
with the weather we have in this country the wood will gather verdigris when wet it is like a skating rink. my son in law had a log path i just about broke my back slipping on the RUDDY thing.
there are so many things on the market that are safe for pathways now. sorry.
    music .
