I had a little wander this morning examining my roses, as one does. I call them one-day wonders here because that's about as long as they last.

This was Oranges and Lemons yesterday ...

... and this was it this morning ...

This was Sunseeker yesterday morning ...

... and this morning (although holding out better, obviously living up to its name (and it is the same bloom) ...

Rhapsody in Blue, only a bud yesterday, this today ...

This is an amazing Lidl rose ... a Golden Showers climber but strangely looks like a fuchsia-coloured mini to me ...

The previous Golden Showers I got from Lidl ended up red with a pink underside, which sadly died ... it was very pretty.

An unknown yellow, slightly pink tinged one, name unknown but I'm sure it's not Peace ...

A mini red one, name unknown ...

Very purty Sis, just a pity they don't last longer.

My Rhapsody is VERY different to yours, Babe! If you were as hot as me, country temperaturewise, that is! you'd look a little frazzled as well!

Agree, Sis, as you know the O&L is a beauty with a heady scent but short lived ... Sunseeker holds out better, as I said, living up to its name!

Thank you, compostee .. but go look at BM's Rhapsody in What's Looking Good in May ...
I haven't asked, Babe, do yours open up like this?

It's beautiful, Rose of the Year 2003, I believe it was and I bought it from the B&Q on the IoW along with my incredible Sunseeker. The rest are from here.

Please, Babe, do not delete ... these are exquisite and to die for.

Mine will never look like yours because of the heat, but what a beauty it is and you are the only other person I know who has one so like seeing how they SHOULD look.

BM - is there ANyTHING that doesn't do well in your garden????!!!!

    It is beautiful!!!

And LOL - yours are beautiful too.... my climbing rose by the front door is in full bloom - normally not until end of May/ June. Its a beautiful apricot colour. My Yellow ones by the greenhouse are only budding at the moment, but next week I am expecting a beautiful show. I'll have to do a photo....

I took a picture this afternoon, but maybe it's not the best so may have to redo in a few days.

I bought this "orange climbing rose" from a nursery here several years ago. The stem I am holding has 26 buds on it ... last year I had 60 on one ...

The open flowers never get over 2cm wide.

Any clues? Or should I wait a few more days?
