I posted a while ago when I was thinking of getting a plstic greenhouse...well I got it and I love it. It took me about 4 nights to build as it came in what seemed like 10,000 pieces, all of them tiny, but hey ho, here it is....

I know its not ideal to have it up against a fence but as you can see, this is a small patio area at the side of my house behind the garage and is the only available space I have as the garden itself is fairly small too. I think for anyone like me with a small space its a great idea.

Yes, sallyann, it felt like day and night!! I am no stranger to flat packed stuff, but this was a challenge especially with an 8 year old and a 3 year old "helping" and in true flat pack style I still have one unaccounted for part and a bag full of nuts and bolts left over!

Its lovely - but I don't envy you the construction especially with two small kids "helping". Congratulations. Your gonna have a lorra fun with that - starting things early, and overwintering tender plants. I inherited a greenhouse when I moved here, and I couldn't be without it now.

Thanks everyone, I think I will do a fun trial in the spring with my mum who has a conventional greenhouse and see how things compare. We are sad like that and need to get out more!

Good thing about a greenhouse ....... You can still potter when it's raining now ;) .

When I saw the title 'plastic greenhouse', I wasn't imagining something as robust as yours, my father tried a plastic greenhouse about 5 years ago (more or less a glorified tent), which you even had guide ropes that staked into the ground ......... It lasted about 2 weeks, that was when the wind had its way with it  .

I had contemplated the plastic tent type affair but was worried about it causing an accident on the main road if the wind got inside it, they do rather resemble box kites!
This one does seem fairly robust so far, but who knows, maybe I will end up posting on here in the winter to ask you all to look out for it !
Anyway, off to hang my anorak up! Night night.

Hia, it came from www.norfolk-greenhouses.co.uk. I think they may have a problem with the website because I couldn't get on it just now to find you the phone number. Try it tomorrow, because you can phone for a free booklet which gives all the details and they send you samples of the plastic. This was a small one, they do bigger ones. This one was £135 or £139 I can't just remember, it was £10 P&P, but it took less than a week to reach me in Preston, Lancs. The staging was £9 each which I thought was a bargain. If you get one, enlist the help of a suitable adult as 2 big arms are much better than 4 little ones!
