What on earth HAS happened to our beautiful bottlebrush that had given us so much pleasure over so many years?

Mrs Lao and I surpassed ourselves this morning, sinking to the lowest possible linguistic level, with:

I suppose we’ll have to bottle it ... or just brush it off!

She said: Put that on the Forum.

I said: No, that’s too cheap.

    She said: ...

I won’t say what she said but, instead, ask whether you think there’s any hope at all for revival? And, if so, how?

Probably dead, if you have had severe low temperatures this winter ie below -5c for a few nights that would kill it off.

I would just leave it and see what happens.

It was once said: “No one loves the messenger who brings bad news”, but we enjoyed your honesty! And yes, we did have severe frost for a few days in London this winter.

Honesty is one thing, but we appreciate your optimism ... so, whilst presuming it may have badly died, i.e. for good, we will indeed take your advice, leave it ... and see what happens ... and, of course, keep you posted!

      Thank you both.

I cut down my yellow bottle brush earlier as it was badly damaged and looked pretty lanky anyway.
The root is well in there, been there a number of years.

Its sprouting new leaves now, I wont get any flowers, but its recovering.
