looks like a bees nest

can anyone help or give me some advice, next door is an old couple who i do a few jobs for this week im painting the top of her house but when i went up on the ladder to see what needed doin i noticed a big bees nest in the apex, as i dont fancy getting stung am i within my rights to destroy the nest:confused: if not would someone like to come round and stick there head in it first:thumb:
