    a very productive weekend coming.

Plenty of rain to stop play out in the garden, when I actually have nothing else planned !!!

I know we need the rain, but wish I could turn it on and off when I wanted .... Especially bank holiday weekends :D

What we need is for it to rain each evening when we are asleep, then brilliant sunshine throughout the day, non stop sunshine every weekend, Bank Holidays and all holidays, apart from Christmas and the New Year, when we could do with a sprinkling of snow, for Santa Claus and kids of all ages.

You would think that in this day of super technology man could at least control the weather!!

    Well, I can but dream.....

Got all my plants in, trellis up for the climbers, and reseeded patches of the lawn. Just had a bath and found soil in places I didn't realise I had. My back is breaking and my nails are chipped. But I don't care. I feel wonderful. And not even a cupful of rain here!

I know, can't believe it. I'm in the North East. On the coast too, so renowned for bad weather and I'm actually looking out to glorious sunshine. How weird is that? No doubt this is the calm before the storm...... I take my chances when I can!

Are'n't you the lucky ones. We have had rain all day as you may see on the TV from Wentworth which is nearby. You have to pick the right time/right day to give the lawns the once over - only the fact that it is still quite cool is stopping the grass from getting completely out of control.
Of course my mower chose to break down right in the middle of my latest effort - could be expensive............

In my part of Essex, which is normally the driest part of Britain, it has rained heavily all day. I joked about planting a water lily on the lawn, but over half is now under 2 inches of water. Bog garden is a lake and woodland garden is a mangrove swamp.
