I have a self grown Loquat in my garden, which is very vigorous. I have partially ring barked it to slow down its growth. How and when do I prune it and how can I keep it in check, as I only have a small garden

I've not grown them myself norman, but I have seen them. Most people seem to end up cutting them back to keep them under control, which is, I suppose OK, as the leaves are pretty ornamental.
At a guess I would say early spring would be best.
