A group of LOTR fans have got together to make a non-profit film "The hunt for Gollumn", it portrays Gandalfs and Aragorn's search for Gollumn to find the history of the one ring. Its a remarkable film incredibly well done with the actors bearing an uncanny resemblance to those from the Jackson trilogy. 40 mins long, streaming link here

I wish I'd known Pal. I got the extended version and sold my original trilogy on eBay.

It would be good if Jackson made a few films from the Tolkien archives...although I think The Silmarilion might be a little heavy going!

Hmm! Love the book(s). Loved the films but they missed out my favourite character, Tom Bombadil. :(The ring had no power over him. Central character in rescuing the Hobbits and arming them. Maybe they could make a short film about him? The "farmer giles" series just make him look silly.:( Tolkien had a wonderful imagination didn't he?:)

Very much so, but also coupled with great intelligence - he was a Professor of English at Oxford, which really shows in his writings. Have you read the Appendices of LOTR? A masterpiece in their own right.

Hi Sussex. I've read everything that he's written and everything I can about him. Imaginative, Intelligent and even a sense of humour. I even tried to learn the Elvish language. (Too much for a bear of little brain) I'm just glad he let us into his world!
