Just seen in the Daily Mail that Princess Margaret's first husband Lord Snowdon has passed away in his sleep aged 86.I expect the TV will be full of it tonight as he was THE Royal photographer and he caught Princess Margaret on the rebound after she wasn't allowed to marry Group Captain Peter Townsend, but as I was quiet young when it all happened I am not completely sure of the full history.

Hope he is the only Royal to pop his clogs this year because I don't think Philip looked at all well in the photos of him in the newspapers recently:sad:

I must admit that I know nothing of him really (me being a young thing, and all....... oi! stop giggling at the back ), so the news of his departing didn't really strike any chords with me. I have to agree @Kandy, that Philip didn't look his best when he was photographed recently, although hopefully that can be attributed to him having had a heavy cold (albeit not as heavy as The Queen suffered).

We have to remember though, that both Philip and The Queen are in their 90's, and despite still being remarkably active, is it inevitable that their days are somewhat numbered.
