Love spoon

I have lots of hobbies, but one of my favourites has to be carving a piece of scrap wood into something of beauty, here’s a love spoon I made for my daughter’s anniversary

Be interested to know what timber that is Lem, must be something close grained to be able to get all the short grain parts to hold together.

@pete the wood was a piece of cherry, it wasn’t kind to my gouges either, and to be honest there wasn’t much character to the wood, but it was free

 

Here’s another one I just came across, made from black walnut

 

Other things I love to make out of scrap wood, copper wire etc.

 

A few more , none of these were made from plans, I just look at pictures on the net and try to make something similar

They are all very good. You have a natural talent.
