This plant wants moving to a place where it's more easily seen. What is it?

    Thanks for looking.

In case it's not sufficiently clear in this photo, it looks exactly like one posted by @Jenny namaste in post #89, What's looking good in May 2014, last photo, the upper right part of the photo.

I think mine is Spirea "Goldflame " MrsK. It was in the border when we moved here 5 years ago,

Agree with Jenny, it looks like Spirea 'Goldflame' to me.

You'll need to watch those long shoots which have the plain green leaves on them too. If the leaves don't turn yellow, as on the rest of the plant, it's probably reversion.

If it is reversion, it's best to prune out those stems, otherwise the whole plant will eventually revert to a plain green colour, as the green growth will be much more vigorous than the yellow leaved parts of the plant.

I think so too: Spiraea japonica Goldflame. @Trunky, interesting about the reversion you mentioned. Had a look this afternoon and can see several green branches to prune out. Thanks for that! So much good lore among the members here. :dbgrtmb:
