My mum gave me this lily about a month ago. It had a tiny bud growing to reach the water surface. I have been watching it grow each day. Yesterday, the lily was just about ready to open. When I woke up this morning, I was greeted by this lovely sight. I am so pleased as this is my first pond and of course, my first lily! ;) ;)

Yes it's great. Wish I had just one flower. I put three lily's in some months ago, plenty of leaves but no flower. Grrrrrr.

Yep, same here Fred (except i have just the one lily), but I have hopes for next year :D
Gilly, that's really really pretty, and great timing (assuming you had a bank holiday day off and some nice weather and time to be out in the garden and enjoy it!) - thanks for sharing with us.
