Dog is thinking: Hmmm, special treat, cat brains for tea.
Cat is thinking: If you don't get off my head in one second I'll spin round and swipe you nose so fast you won't know what's hit you.

I am not sure if I ever shared this before, my cats (2 sisters) were fostered by a dog. Both dog and mamma cat were "foundlings" living in the same family, they had been found as babies about the same time and grew up together, when the kittens were born (it was her first litter) the dog played Papa part all the time. He layed by her during the birth, licked the newborn lkittens clean (unbelievable!), kept the whole family warm when the kittens were feeding, and later he always kept an eye on them "barking them" away from the road back into the garden (I witnessed this myself). My old neighbours had a dog, and the cats met him every day without any tragic incident ever happening. They are extremely sociablòe and cooperative cats, I wonder if the dog imprinting has something to do with it. One of them even "plays stick". She does not fetch it (yet) but she runs for it,enthusiastically.
