Just had to say how beautiful the embankments are looking at the side of the roads full of lupins either side.
When I went hillwalking on Sunday was driving south and it was so pretty to see in bloom.
Dont know if the council had sown seeds.

How lovely. I remember seeing wild lupins growing along the road sides in New Zealand when we went there on our travels, but I haven't seen such a stunning sight in Britain. They must have been planted specially, like daffodils are in the Spring.

Lupins grow wild in Norway, mostly blue in colour.

Would so love to see any pics that anyone has of our UK roadside lupins?
Saw a derelict house in the Pyrennes from "Le petit train jaune" that we were on. The garden was a mass of lilac, pink and almost white wild lupins and I still remember the intense perfume coming across and into the open carriage that we were in. Awesome. I love the gorilla gardening idea Scotkat,
        Jenny
