Lupins

    Hi,

    I’ve just planted a lupin in the ground and wandered if lupins spread and if an how is it possible to take cuttings from them?

    I think you can take softwood cuttings of the young new growth in early spring, but never tried it.

    Seed is a fairly easy way of growing more plants.

    Endorsing seeds!

    Last Spring ( 2019) I sowed a packet of inexpensive mixed lupins for my new patch. Excellent germination and growth and in autumn I planted out the dozen strong seedlings where they were to grow. See the photo for the first flower starting to open... several weeks ago. Added advantage that using seed you can select the colours if you wish in choosing seed. And I paid just under a euro for the packet of seeds.. oh and the bees love lupins. So do I 1 CIMG2845 (2).JPG
