They look a bit like pebbles, but I so like them... photo:www.abbeybrookcacti.com
I have been looking at these... but never actually taken the plunge and tried. How difficult are they to grow from seed, and what should I expect in terms of growth rate etc? They do look great, and I imagine are a real talking point.
Luke they are slow from seed but easy to germinate, takes about three or four years to flower . They need definite rest periods with no water what so ever, mainly from September to late May totally dry. And only slight watering the rest of the time. They have fascinating ways of dispersing the seed after flowering. Adult plants are fairly cheap and start dividing after flowering, so might be more instant if you dont want to go down the seed route.
