Mackaya bella

One of the best new plants this year has been Mackaya bella.....................


It set seed and I collected as many as I could (bearing in mind that the pods explode). A trial sowing of ten seeds has so far produced five seedlings at the three week mark.....................


As if that's not enough, three cuttings all struck within ten days............................


The only fault with this plant is that the blooming period only lasts for about a month (in late spring/early summer).
