Lousy, cold and dreary weather. Next to no flowers. No landscapes. But all is not lost as I found some mini-fauna indoors.

Spider surprised me while looking out of the kitchen window - he just abseiled down right in front of me and then jumarred up the thread again. Had to crank up the ISO to get a small enough aperture and speed hence the grainy image. He's still somewhere up above the kitchen window.

Wasp I found this morning when I opened the blinds in the porch. It was quite cold and the wasp was very sluggish. Light was really low so I used a ring flash and monopod. I had to tweak this photo a bit as the original was too dark as I've not yet got to grips with the output of the flash.
Mrs W wants the wasp put outside, but I've managed to resist so far as it's too cold.

Posh you with a ring flash. I bet you had to save your pocket money for a while.
Super shots and waiting for more Dave.

:D It didn't 'cost' me anything Robert, I funded it from money I made over the winter by selling some of my redundant radio gear and test equipment. It wasn't too expensive either as it's not a Canon flash.

Hi Kathy3 Macro photography is a term used for close up photos. It is a term applied to most close up photos but should actually only be applied to photos which have a 1:1 or closer magnification.:)
