I sprayed Pathclear on my lawn instead of Verdone!!

Total schoolboy error here. I really should know better.

Now I have HUGE dead patches.

What I would like to know is what to do next?

Leave to to come back? Dig out the patches and reseed?

How long do I wait for something to grow there again?

Pathclear will last 6 months, perhaps more.

You could perhaps dig out the patches, and replace and turf - but the chemical may be deeper in the soil, or leach sideways :(

    Woooooops!!!!!!!!!!!!

Reminds me of a young lady I worked with..........Got up late as usual, left with only just enough time to be just a little late for work......again!!!!!!!:ywn::ywn:

Car covered in and inch of frost:(:(..............scrapeing madly on the outside........can no longer feel fingers............THEN..........brainwave:idea::idea::idea::idea:...............she remembers that when she bought car, there was a can of de-icer in a box of bits and pieces in the boot.:yho::yho:

SO!!!!!!!!!! to save scrapeing the inside......... she emptied most of the can on the inside of the windscreen!!!!!!!!!!!!!:doh::doh:

NOW she has a lovely BLUE dashboard and matching sun visors and although now, very late for work...........has to drive the 15mls peeking though the few little holes where she had not given it a second coating of gloss.................with the drivers window open, for extra visability!!!!!!!

WOMEN.........what is it with them, when you just enquire, why is it that they are so late for work:rotfl::rotfl:

    Cheers

    Steve

You will need to dig out a spades depth of soil from the dead areas then fill in with new topsoil then a patch of turf or seed.

Pathclear is desighned to have residual properties so the soil is effectivly contaminated.

I bet in the future you will always read labels before using.

    Periwinkle,

"We have just reseeded them, and the grass is coming through now. It did not take long at all."

I think that sums up Pathclear as its UP TO 3 months. Presumably it depends on soil type and rain amount.

Wether apply large amounts of water will reduce the time its contaminated I dont know. Try ringing the manufacturer for advice.

Trouble is we are talking sprayed on deliberately rather than spray drift therfore the areas will have had a good soaking.

I sprinkled dry path clear into the cracks in my paths and then watered it iin. The weeds still didn't stop growing.

Probably works better on grass though.

I walked across my lawn with an empty watering can - after using glyphosate - result regular dead patches about 3" diameter :hehe::hehe:

    Interesting. Says "New for 2009"

I was looking at the picutre-of-packet on the Wyevale site (I tend to use that because their pictures are excellent, and you can zoom in and read the small print :thumb:)

    http://www.wyevale.co.uk/Scotts-Pathclear-Ultra-+12-sachets/0800002029,default,pd.html

but that is "Pathclear Ultra" which may be no more ...

It says "weeds for up to 3 months (under ideal conditions some weeds may be controlled for up to 6 months)" on the front, but the back says "A period of at least 6 months should elapse between treatment and replanting". Dunno if that applies to the new product though.

Might be worth a post on their forums:

    http://www.lovethegarden.com/forums/

Supposedly their Team (of moderators) includes company members.
