How's this for improvisation! An old aerator with a new life.. Add a dibber and you have a potato planter! Our soil is light enough to do this and my neighbour has used this for many years with excellent crops.
:D Please don't laugh Dave..he is a church elder and parish chairman..one of the old ...old school  A real gentleman and a gardener who is always on your shoulder...you know.."I wouldn't plant them now son" or "Done away with your veg...what if there is another War??????". :D
and you told me it was a lawn aireator in your whats this thread - just goes to show you that you can't alwys believe what men tell you
Not having to use green string and lables, thats what muy husband has to do to get everything back in the right place!
These must have been the pitch forks. He was a very mean farmer, There was a tool count every day.. He is now a multi Millionair........... The moral of this story is .. Count your fork handles.....
First pic roders...I have a slashing hook like the ones painted at the far end..will post a pic ! But only if you can tell me what they were used to ..Slash! :D
OK Pal.... Slasher was used for slashing undergrowth. Layering hedging. Spliting withies for hurdles. Unless of course you know different..................
I know I slag my neighbour off, but have to say he has had his hawthorn (mixed) hedge layered expertly. On the other side though i think instruction in pollarding lime trees is required.
That picture brings back a few memories I can tell you! Could almost be my Grandad at work. But he smoked roll ups! The Slashing hook looks the same too!
