Tetters has been scooping them up with the thinger on the back of the tractor :dancy:

    DSCI0315.JPG

Zigger has been packing them in bags, just filled the first one and started the second :)

    DSCI0316.JPG

Soaked them with 6 gallons of rainwater, they already have chopped up Agaricus bisporus in with them so the fungal process should start soon :fingers crossed:

Reckon we'll have at least 6 of these by the time all the leaves come down :hapfeet::hapfeet::hapfeet::hapfeet::hapfeet::hapfeet:

Looks as tho you 2 are dealing with the quantities I wrestle with:). I pick up a fair dose with the lawn tractor with the deck high. A few bits of grass help the process of breaking down altho I know the decaying of leaves and compost are different but from my experience a bit of grass does no harm at all.
I use the same huge builders bags for collection but empty them out into an enormous pile. Friend who is a pro gardener told me it's best to have the pile sitting on soil not in bags if possible. I have just used the resulting mould from 2016 adding it to fairly large Rhododendrons and Azaleas i have been transplanting. Gorgeous stuff and free! If I didn't collect the leaves and get the resulting mould I'd have had to buy at least 1000 litres of peat to produce the same decent planting medium for the transplants.

I decided to collect the leaves first, and cut the grass afterwards to keep Lord Awful happy :snorky:
