    hello

I am growing pumpkins and have just discovered that the female flowers are almost ready to flower, I'm guessing tomorrow or the next day. I had been planning on hand pollinating them but the male flowers are no where near as ready.

Is there anything I can do??

I've found that I often lose the first baby squashes/courgettes because there aren't any men around. They seem to balance in the end though. If they don't get pollinated, maybe they can be eaten anyway, I suppose the skin will be soft, though I don't know about the flavour.

    I think it normal.
Its the plants way of making sure it dont start setting fruit before its ready.
The plants need to be of a certain size before they are capable of growing good sized fruit.
