    Nice one SussexG. :D

But I can't really see why people are worrying about another runway, though I am aware of its effect on global warming. If we really were serious about climate change we would be talking about reducing the world population, instead of its current exponential growth.

Its like the credit crunch, which I have no doubt the government saw coming as the signs were very clear. They were in denial over that and are in denial over the real cause of global warming as well.

As for the gunge, I think she should have kept a bit for Brown. His speech in Congress was the most embarrasing ingratiating crawl I have ever seen.

I think it was disgraceful behaviour.
Just because you don't agree with someone and you want to get a point across you can't go throwing stuff over anyone.
I don't care who they are.
Who the hell does she think she is.
I have no time for rude people who think they are above the law.
    It was very wrong.
She's the one who's' Plane Stupid' in my opinion.

I don't agree with violence in general. However....these ministers are public servants and shoud be accountable for their actions, but sadly, they think they aren't. The government is also getting very good at ignoring public opinion - the "we are the ones in charge, we know better, now shut up plebs" attitude. How many people marched through London to protest about the Iraq War and the government ignored them? Or the petition against road tolls?

Unfortunately, sometimes direct action is required. Remember, the Poll Tax riots worked and there is great fear that there will be similar this summer with loads of unemployed, disaffected people with too much time on their hands. Governments have been brought down with less...

Oh yes, and Mandleson is a worm. Slimey little git who quite frankly, looks better covered in green goo. Hopefully he'll cock up (again) and get booted (again) from his joke shop of a job.

Made me smile, one slimy little man who personifies all thats bad about Labor and a similarly deranged woman from an obscure protest group. Give them both buckets and let them fight to the death I reckon!!!

Funny on one hand, if she was Muslim people would be baying for retribution ! But hey ho it's ok she's just a white female tree hugger.

Could of been anything in that cup, in this instance it was harmless. No excuse for that sort of behaviour. Arrest her at least for affray !

The downside is there will now be a full enquiry into ministers security, costing us taxpayers a vast amount and that's before we have to start paying for the additional security

Actually I just changed my opinion on Mandelson,he could have police protection if he wanted.
As an Ex Northern Ireland secretary he is entilted to 24 hour police protection, but he choose not to. I applaud him for that (but still think he is a awatse of space politically). Same as when John Prescott got egged, I can't stand that man either, but his reaction to the situation was great. Pity Mandelson didn't thump that that silly woman who threw the custard.

I think she should be arrested, after all if she had thrown that on me in the street I would expect some kind of justice.
Plus it was thrown for stupid reasons, probably set up by a certain news paper that got a really good shot of it.

Having said that, who the hell is LORD Mandelson, dont think he's an MP, voted for by us lot.
    Perhaps I'm wrong?

So how does he get such jobs, surely he has some hold on those in power?

He now seems to be having his say on most things these days.

I always thought Lords weren't allowed to sit in the House of Commons.

I can't stand Peter Mandelson, but happily, he'll cock up (again) and have to resign soon.

I don't care what the protesters reasons were, and while I don't approve of violence, I did really, really enjoy watching the incident on the news.

As far as I'm concerned, government ministers believe they are gods, and to a government minister, the general public are nothing more than the bacteria that feeds off the doggy doos on the bottom of their shoes. They only reason they take any interest in the mortal peasants at all is because their salaries are somewhat dependent on us voting them back into power every few years. I think it is always nice when one of the mortal peasants gets the opportunity to remind them that they are not actually gods at all.
