I have a peach tree and it comes into blossom really early and i looked online and it said as there are no bees around you should pollenate it yourself with a cotton bud. How do i do this? I never had one fruit last year so want to make sure i have done all i can to get some this year.

Most peach trees do not need pollination - what variety is yours?

Take the pollen from the anthers & rub it on the Style in the middle of the flower.

After many years of fiddling around with a paintbrush on a stick:heehee: I was give a great tip by DaveW, (I think).
Just use a garden sprayer and spray the flowers with water on sunny days, best at the warmest part of the day.
It works, should have thought of it as its often suggested to help tomatoes to set fruit.

True Mira, peaches are self fertile and dont need another different peach to pollinate them, but the pollen still has to be moved within the flowers.

Yes thats what i mean, it needs to be moved within the flowers, So should i stick a cotton bud in one flower and then put it in another? Ill try the water thing too. It will all help.
      thanks
