Manure/Compost and Strawberries

    Hello to all im going to buy some Strawberry plants and im wondering will it be ok to plant them into the ground thats just had fresh Manure/Compost mixed into it. Iam fairly nerw to growing my own so im not sure if its ok to do so. Any advice is greatly appreciated .... kindest regards Chris

    I've read suggestions that adding fresh manure [1] to Strawberry plants will increase runner production at the expense of fruit production, but haven't been concerned about this as we grow hundreds of Strawberry plants and regard the runners as much a crop as the fruit.

    Thank you Scrungee the compost is nearly all grass cuttings, its just for a couple of years my Strawberry yield has been very low and i hoped to improve the soil with compost just before i plant them.
