    Them's the ones I bought :) I'll take a photo - maybe yours was made different / better way-back-then.

I've got a diddy one like that - not sure its the same make, but it is nicely made. Handy for dusting some compost onto seedlings, I also use it to get very fine sieved compost for seed sowing.

The wires coming through to the inside

          IMG_6806a_Sieve.jpg

I reckon I'm going to catch a nail on the exposed end of that wire, sooner or later. I think they could be sandwiched between two laminate layers of Beech ... but it ain't me that has to make them of course!

Kristen, I reckon if you mixed up some araldite (other glues available) and smear it over that wire it will encase and set as a blob and prevent nail catch in the future.

          Steve...:)

Cracking idea. The blindingly obvious often escapes me - either that or its a sign of a cracking good idea :) Ta Muchly.

Oh gosh see what you mean kristen. Mine are encased under / between another layer of ply so no sharp edges. I reckon do something like Steve says then. You weren't sold seconds or something by mistake were you. That seems very poor to me. After all we all put our hands in our sieves at some point!

Nope. Definitely how they make them now. I did wonder if it had been different once-upon-a-time. Might have a scout around for another craftsman and treat myself to one for a lifetime or maybe several ...

Hmm that is not good at all.. I am sure you can just still read the name on mine.. The finished difference is huge I can see.. Mine look more like the green key ones in finish type.. No sharp bits at all.. Have a look at the Green Key ones on the Amazon page, but also the Natural Gardener blokes make them so why not give them a call.? I did see this on Ebay
              Otherwise Crocus do one..

It escapes most of us at some time, its why places like this are such a boon because if a reply does not give the correct thing you need, often it will set you down a road that otherwise you may not have travelled...that happens to me all the time here.

                Steve...:)
