I've just purchased (and received) a couple of items, one for £4.69 and the other for £8.99, but when tidying up my watch list I noticed the first had increased to £24.69 and the second to £108.99, completely wacky increases.

    What are they up to?

I would be tempted to email them and ask for an explanation, they have added 10(8.99) on the first and 2(4.69) on the second, a genuine mistake?

Bit of a coincidence when it's 2 different sellers and both items have been marked being "updated by the seller" meaning they've deliberately changed the prices? All I'll do is qualify my feedback to mention the much lower price I bought at.

Funny you should mention this Scrungee as I had a new garden bench on watch last week for £32.99 and free delivery and then it disappeared??, when I searched for it again I found it, the exact same one, same seller at £137.99 and free delivery!!!!!!??? :hate-shocked::scratch:

I have noticed that the same might item might be on by the same seller for very different prices. I've been puzzled by sellers who put the same new item on for a BIN of, say £25 and simultaneously on an auction for 99p. What happens if it sells at 99p? Or do they make sure that it doesn't come to that?

I've been amazed by some of the prices charged on BIN- way over what the item is worth or what you could pay in a normal shop. Let the buyer beware!

You always have a choice on Ebay , buy it or leave it . A big con on Ebay was the postage , buy an item for £1 and the postage was £9.99 . I think they have controlled that now.
As Madahhlia said Caveat Emptor ( buyer beware ) !

That's certainly not the seasonal fluctuation I'd expect from a seller upping prices of stuff such as garden furniture, fruit processing equipment, poly tunnels, etc.

I can only conclude that some ebay sellers are completely crazy.

Only one of a myriad of reasons that I don't use ebay. I wonder if its just coincidence that 'ebay' and 'done' are both four letter words.............

I bid on an item for 99p last week, it had a BIN 35 pounds , I got it for the 99p, I only bid to see if I would get it, usually things will get bid up to the price they wanted , friends and family I always assume.
if you are selling an item it tells you how many have looked at it and how many are watching it, I think some sellers will get others to bid it up if several parties are interested.

There are bargains on there but you have to have time and patience to find them.

Ebay can be a bit of a lottery and you have to get wise to it, but I have had wonderful bargains and loads of fun with it.
