    Hi all,

My name's Matthew and I'm a 29 year old qualified tree surgeon from S. Wales. My dad was a groundsman / gardener for most of his working life so I had a pretty good introduction into gardening; the family garden was pristine! I went to college after leaving school to study NVQ Level II Amenity Horticulture before going into tree surgery. I've been a tree surgeon for about ten years and am studying to take my Royal Forestry Society Certificate in Arboriculture exam later this year.

The main reason why I signed up to this site was that my wife and I moved into a new development house which had no garden. Heck, it had no top soil, just bare, heavily compacted clay. I have installed a drainage system and laid topsoil and turf but now I am looking for hints, tips, ideas and suggestions on what to do with my garden next.

I look forward to seeing how things turn out on here and in my garden.

    All the best,
    Matthew
