Hi Kristen, I've tried raising the Blue Poppy and never had much success because as Woo correctly says it definitely needs acid soil. It would also need watering with rain water and not tap water. There's some lovely examples of it at Bodnant Gardens near Conway in Wales. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!!

    .

As the name Himalayan says, needs cool damp conditions, not a lot of sun, wettish soil and damn difficult to grow!

Having seen them in flower in Scotland, magnificent plants with a deep dep blue colour.
I got the bug and grew a lot from seed, miserable little plants, washed out colours when they flowered and they died out the next year.

I asked in the local garden centre, the chap there said it was a waste of time growing them in Gloucester or else where where there was strong sunlight and dry conditions so I have never tried them again!

    Hope this helps!
