Will have spare seed ready in a few months time. Normally deadhead but happy to let seed set for anybody who'd like to try and grow these lovely Poppies. I have grown them from my own seed and am no expert, so if I can succeed then reckon you will too! Please PM me if interested.

    Hi
I'd love to try to grow some different poppies, if the offer is still open, please.

Hello Kate, I should have enough seed for all those that want some. Perhaps I should have said in my post that there is no point in sending to you tho if you don't have acid soil and somewhere where it doesn't get dry in Summer. Altho they are called Poppies they aren't like Poppies at all with their likes and dislikes! The seed isn't ripe yet as they have only just stopped flowering after about 2 months:). I mulch them with a good 4/6 inches of rotted horse manure which they like. If none available even a very thick layer of bark chip would do, really anything to stop them getting too dry. once they get dry then it's curtains! You can let me know if you think you can give them what they demand!!!! Regards, Sue.

I would like some too. You commented on a photo of Sisyrinchium that I posted and I have found some seed for S.californicum if you want to try.

Thank you longk that is a kind offer. I did grow the purple/blueish variety a few years ago but it didn't like here, maybe too acid and it's also a bit of a small plant for my garden. Wee things tend to get swamped by my generally large type plants. maybe if you had seed of something which grows a bit bigger!? I should have enough seed for you. I did do some dead heading as the Meconopsis have pretty well finished flowering now...not bad about 2 months of flowers but pretty sure there will be enough despite quite a few people wanting it. It won't be ready for a while but will contact you when it's ripe.Regards, Sue.

Great, just the job. Maybe you could include an idiot's guide to success growing it from seed!
