    I know of a medlar tree around here.

    I don't think I've come across those before. They look a bit like a persimmon/sharon crossed with apple and rosehip.

    They are a bit appley. They are just starting to "blet" or go rotten, they are too hard to use before that.

    Will make medlar and apple jelly again. Poppie said it was the best thing she'd ever tasted last year.

      Well, bang goes that one.

      Left the bag outside for the rest to blet. Heard a russling in the pot store, saw the rat, wondered what it was after, then found the almost empty bag of Medlars.:DOH:

      They'd left the Apples.

      Caught 3 of the beggars.

      Just had the last of last years Medlar Jelly on toast:(
