Doesn't the member status just depend on how many times you post?

Likewise E, i've worked 38 years in glasshouses and I have a postage stamp size garden so I am not a gardening expert either.

Dont worry about it, it is, just related to how many posts you've made.
I think the member rating says more, that is if we remember to rate one another. :D

As its only to do with the number of posts - don't worry about it. As Pete says its the member rating that is more valuable if people chose to do it. I must admit I went for about a year before remembering to do it - more often forgotten though.

I've turned off my member rating since someone (may have been a troll or two) downrated it.

I was never that keen on the idea anyway. Someone either likes what you post or doesn't and if they don't then they are free to say so openly. Debate the subject matter and not the person - opinions will differ from time to time and hopefully we all learn from eachother.

elainefiz, I think everybody realises it's just the system on GC and refers to the interest (i.e. number of postings) you have on GC so you really can't be a fake in that case! :D

If it comes to that, I'm no guru either - and this used to be 'gardening god' which I'm also not!!!
