I tend to find a lot of nails, glass and stones on my garden and try to take off as many as I can. Is it best to do this or can they do no harm. I grow veg only.

Apart from smallish stones, which I'd leave, I'd take them all off, Sausage. The stones will help the drainage, but big ones are a nuisance!

Nails and glass do make plunging ones hands into the soil a rather dangerous pastime. We have the same trouble and gloves are essential!
