after a problem with mice in the shed and no matter what i do they get in. im am catching 3 or four a week and this has been going on at least 18months so even i am getting bored with killing them and lady imp is sick of them going in the bin..so i have seen a new trap in wilkinsons that i am going to buy this week where they have to walk up a ramp for the bait but cant get back up the ramp so now i will have a load of live mice when i open the shed door..living near the canal my plan is to release them say a mile down the canal in the farmers field is this far enough or will they be able too find the same run ;) must be going soft

Ste sorry to hear about your unwanted shed guests, not nice to see their little currant droppings all over the place. :(

I tried those ramp traps a few years ago and they worked really well but I always chickened out when it came to releasing the little monsters inside....don't know why I just have a problem about wild mice and rats!

Silly really when domesticated ones don't bother me at all.

What seems to be the best bait for your mice?

Chocolate always worked well for us although I'm pretty sure our problem mice were all female as they couldn't resist the chocolate bait at all! :D Hel.xxx.

About a month ago we had mice up in our loft. One night they were particularly bad scabbling about so at 6.30 hubbie took the cat up the loft ladder. She potted about in the general area after prowling around the loft first (having never been up there before) but then got bored. Whilst she wasn't looking a mouse scurried past chased by hubbie wielding a stick and missing on each whack. Hubbie got bored and came back to bed but the cat decided to stay up there for a little while longer, then meowed 'cos she couldn't get down the ladder. Mice still happy in the loft but not scampering about. The next day they must have come out 'cos the cat got both of them from under the shed. No noises since. [IMG]

get your hands on a ferret lol mate that will do the trick had the ******s in my tackle shed last year a right pain to get rid of another tip before you put the live ones back mark them with nail varnish that way you know if its the same ones you get back. :D :D
please dont give the mice to any captive bred snake its not a very good idea as the mice carry alsorts and this will lead to the snakes death.....
