This morning I collected some blue glass from a Bath Freecycle member. She has the most beautiful garden and grows loads of plants that everyone would be envious of. There was a beautiful Grevillea, 3 different large callistemons and -the first time I have seen one- A Michelia with burgundy flowers which smell just like mulled wine. She very kindly gave me 2 small branches from it, enough for at least 4 cuttings. Here's hoping- it smelled delicious.

It has to be different to the Michelia Figo I have which has the smell of bananas. Mine has finished flowering. I Haven't thought of taking cuttings , might give it a go. [IMG]

Yes, that one has creamy coloured flowers, doesn't it? The one I'm talking about is usually mentioned with the banana one, not many mentions but I think it's also called port wine magnolia. July- September is the right time for cuttings from what I can find. If they don't work I'll just have to buy one. This was a large bush so she didn't mind at all, it is in midflower at the moment.
