After hearing about these lovely creatures from a link Peri put up on the wakey wakey thread this morning and then hearing about them just a bit later on our local radio station this morning,I thought i must go and track these little hegehogs down:D.They are called African Pygmy Hedgehogs and are fantastic little creatures:gnthb:

There was a bit of a crowd round these beautiful little creatures, and the couple that ended up buying the albino one, plus the cage food etc to go with it,did not mind me taking the photos,so I thought I would put them here for you all to see.:)

I do hope these hedgies don't become the next must have pet like the Micro pigs I heard about last week. All these pets are very nice, until the owners become bored with them and then rescue centres end up having to take them on and look after them until a forever home is found for them....

Anyway, these are the hedgies when they are full grown and after looking at the link, the babies when first born are so small they can fit into an egg cup:)

PS Sorry about the blurred ones but they wouldn't keep still long enough for me to egt good enough photos:p

These were unfortunately, the 'must have' pet back in Vancouver about 15 years ago - it was all the local kids wanted, and months later there was an influx of them looking for new homes. Cute pics - did you find them at a local pet store? I remember at home they were $60 each all those years ago.
