    Sad to read about his passing. He was the best of the impressionists.

    I was surprised by the two line announcement on the bbc, would have thought they had an article prepared and ready to publish given he was unwell for so long. They have a better page now.

    There are some very funny sketches on YouTube I just watched a few, might not appeal to anyone who doesn't know the politicians from the 60s and 70s.

      I thought he was good at the height of his fame but he disappeared from tv in a very short space of time after that.
      I was only a year or so ago he was pictured with Richard O'Sullivan at the care home they were both living in.

        He suffered from alcohol, anxiety and depression which cut short his career very suddenly. He was on a cooking programme not very long ago, the contestants had to make a meal for care home residents and Mike and Richard O'Sullivan were residents.

            No, I knew Freddy Starr had died but I also thought Mike Yarwood had died too.
            Maybe it's because he hasn't been seen for so long.
