Wondered if anyone can help me with this one. I planted a lovely Bergamot plant in my garden this season and has come up well and flowered. However, it is now covered in powdery mildew - does not seem to have effected any of the other plant just this one. Does anyone know if there is any cure for this, whether it will last or do I just rip it up at this stage. I have many more plants I can replace it with but it seems a shame to take it up if it will survive.

    Thanks
    Oli

    Hi Oli
Dryness is to blame - they are susceptible to mildew if the weather is dry - Monarda do like it damp, cut back the affected parts & next season keep them well watered & mulched.

Thank you Bayleaf for your advise - hopefully do better next year. It's a shame because they have spread like nobody's business and all of them are effected.

    Thanks again
    Oli
