Does the mildew on forget-me-nots spread to roses? ..... or is it a different thing?

Don't know for sure, but I seem to remember reading somwehre that mildew is specific to some plants so it wouldn't spread-that's not to say the same conditions for both plants wouldn't cause them both to get the seperate types of fungus.

Hmmm. Like Lollipop, I'm not sure. Some plants certainly are magnets for mildew while plants close by aren't affected. I wouldn't chance it for roses, though. I'd give them a pre-emptive spray with fungicide if you're concerned.

I rip out the forget-me nots when they get it ... cos they look so bad... but just wondered if it was the same stuff as the roses get!

The forget me nots in my garden developed it about three weeks ago-like you I cut them down to ground, then used some green sulphur dusting powder. They are starting to come back up again-this time, thankfully, minus the mildew.

I haven't had it happen to them before-I thought it was due to the dry spring and the roots getting dry.
