An amazing garden with some fabulous mature trees. Woodland area and terrace gardens. Refreshments in the courtyard. Also in the 2 for 1 book. Stunning views.

Thanks for that, if it ever stops raining I might try getting the bus to Wells and visiting. £2 bus fare still applies I think.

@Escarpment, that might depend on where you're coming from and where the bus stops. That garden is a long way from the centre of Wells up the long main road to Bath so I would suggest you look at a map first to save any disappointment. It is a stunning garden however, when we visited, probably pre covid, it was maintained by the owner and her son, neither of them very young.

I do more than study maps, I virtually walk the route using Google Street View wherever possible! It's very helpful for spotting things that might look OK on the map but are not actually practical such as a busy road with no pavements.

      Anyway I found this

Circular walk from the centre of Wells taking in lots of other sights, says it's about 2.8 miles which is doable but plenty of hill climbing. Will only try it if I'm feeling particularly fit!

That looks a beautiful garden. Too far from us in Norfolk, maybe one day.
